Welcome to the TARO showcase.

TARO is a line of contemporary hand crocheted cowls, made by Tanya Roberts, in Toronto, Canada. Each piece is made of a mixture of lamb's wool and fine acrylic yarn. This results in a soft touch to the skin and excellent structure when looped or draped.

TARO cowls are made with my original patterns (with the exception of the Magnum Capelet which was designed by Karen Clements) and no two pieces are exactly alike. TARO cowls are constructed with quality thick yarn resulting in an accessory that is comfortable, lightweight and warm.

As with many handmade crafts, TARO cowls are made slowly and lovingly. Some pieces are constructed with up to 900 stitches.

TARO unisex full size cowls are offered in a variety of colours and measure approximately 23" in length and 9" wide laid flat and can be looped once. The tight stitching of the soft yarn makes the cowl comfortably dense and warm to wear. The Demi Cowl measures approximately 14" in length and 9" in width and made with soft yarn for a lightweight piece. This half size neck covering is made in several colours and features a unique stitch displaying a beautiful texture.

TARO cowls are currently only being offered at local Toronto craft fairs and are also made to order.
